In a move that underscores the growing connection between agriculture, wealth creation, and sustainable investment, the C.SAGAS Charity Foundation has announced a major agro-investment empowerment programme targeted at youths and women across communities.
The initiative, known as C.SAGAS Youth & Women Agri-Grant 2026: Cultivating Wealth and Empowering People, is expected to inject financial support and agricultural resources into more than 400 farming enterprises, creating new opportunities for income generation, food production, and long-term economic development.
Industry observers note that agriculture remains one of Nigeria’s most valuable investment sectors, closely linked to land utilization, rural development, and wealth creation. The programme is therefore being viewed as a strategic intervention capable of unlocking value from agricultural assets while empowering a new generation of agro-entrepreneurs.
Under the scheme, over 200 beneficiaries will receive direct grants ranging from ₦100,000 to ₦500,000, depending on the size of their farms and the nature of their agricultural ventures. The grants are designed to help recipients expand operations, increase productivity, and improve returns on investment.
Additionally, more than 200 other beneficiaries will receive fertilizer support as part of efforts to boost crop yields during the 2026 farming season.
According to the foundation, applicants who successfully completed registration and screening are currently being processed, while the final list of beneficiaries will be released ahead of the scheduled disbursement date of June 26, 2026.
Speaking on the initiative, C.SAGAS emphasized that the programme goes beyond charity, describing it as a practical investment in people, food security, and community prosperity.
He noted that empowering young people and women through agriculture creates a ripple effect across multiple sectors of the economy, including land development, agribusiness, logistics, and rural infrastructure.
“Our goal is to support government efforts by creating opportunities that empower people economically while contributing to food security and community development,” he stated.
Beyond agriculture, the foundation has implemented several human capital development programmes, including scholarships, educational support initiatives, business mentorship schemes, startup grants, and youth empowerment projects.
Real estate and investment analysts have increasingly identified agricultural land and agribusiness as emerging wealth-building assets, particularly as demand for food production and land development continues to rise. Initiatives such as the C.SAGAS Agri-Grant Programme are expected to encourage greater participation in agriculture while creating pathways for sustainable income and asset growth among young Nigerians.
The foundation disclosed that beneficiaries experiencing issues with farm GPS verification should resolve them before the disbursement date to ensure a smooth distribution process.
With preparations nearing completion, stakeholders say the programme could serve as a model for private-sector-driven agricultural investment and community empowerment, demonstrating how strategic interventions can transform both livelihoods and local economies.
